My painting symbolizes the daily fight to tread
forward. The fight is against one’s self. Like
a Shadow that runs through “abstract
thoughts” and leads us to places where we
have touched the bottom, people who suffer
from a mental illness show in many ways their
internal fight. There is a parallel between
artists and individuals living with mental
illness, both close their fists to fight with the
ghosts that attempt to interfere in the purity of
their free spirit.
