Inner Language - Lenguaje Interior, 2006

Media: Acrylic on Canvas
Size: 25 x 25 inches
Provenance: The Artist

What is in a person’s head? Can we ever
truly understand the thoughts of our
neighbors? The images of birds in place of
eyes, mouth and hair represent
communication in various stages of flight.
Thoughts that are expressed and those that
are suppressed, either by society or by our
very own bodies, have the same point of
origin. This painting aims to demonstrate the
frustration and helplessness of suppressed
language and the desire of every human to
communicate with the larger body of
humankind.
